1. Confederation Start-up Visa Program

The Confederation Start-up Visa Program (CSUV) is a Canadian Permanent Residence program administered by the federal government of Canada. It targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build innovative and globally competitive businesses in Canada, which can create jobs for Canadians. It is available in all provinces except Quebec.

The applicant must receive support from a designated organization, which is approved to invest in or support possible start-ups (venture capital fund, angel investor fund, or business incubator). The Confederation Start-Up Visa program is fast, simple, and straightforward and allows for the applicant to go directly to Permanent Residence.

Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Convince an angel investor to invest at least $75,000 in the start‐up business;
  • Be able to document the legal source of funds of CAD$ 750,000 in Net Worth (principal applicant’s and spouse’s assets combined);
  • Be a minimum age of 21 with no maximum age.
  • Business ownership or management experience would be an asset but not required.
  • 2+ years of post-secondary education would be an asset but not required.
  • Have basic proficiency in English or French CLB 5 or greater.

Application Process

The application process is straightforward:

  • The immigration consultant will submit to Confederation the Applicant Questionnaire for initial client acceptance;
  • Match the Applicant with a Designated Angel Investor;
  • Receive a Letter of Support from the Designated Angel Investor;
  • Apply for Permanent Residence;

Payments:

Applicant agrees to pay CAD$ 195,000, which includes, processing fees, business plan creation, and incubator interview preparation:

  • CAD$ 50,000 upon being pre-qualified and signing the Professional Services Agreement;
  • CAD$ 145,000 upon receipt of the Letter of Support from the Angel Investor.

Land and Establish the Business:

Upon receiving the Permanent Resident Visa, the applicant must send a copy of the principal applicant’s Visa to us. Upon landing in Canada as Permanent Residents, the family will have access to the free public school system, and healthcare.

The Angel Investor will provide support to the applicant for 6 months after landing:

  • Business consulting to start the business
  • Mentoring
  • Access to Capital
  • Networking opportunities and events

2. Quebec Business Immigration Program

The Quebec business immigration program is designed to allow business people and their families the opportunity to immigrate to Canada as Immigrant Investors. This special investor immigration program allows immigrants to obtain the Immigrant Investor Visa which is a permanent residency visa, leading to Canadian Citizenship and a passport.

Requirements and Process

  • Provide evidence of at least CAD$ 2.0 million in personal net worth.
  • The applicant should have a minimum of two years of managerial experience out of five years or own a company.
  • Upon Approval, the applicant will need to invest CAD$ 1,200,000 (refundable after five years) OR make a one-time payment of CAD$ 350,000 (Non-refundable). We will assist with this.
  • The applicant and their family will be able to visa-free travel to more than 150 countries with a Canadian passport.

3. New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

The New Brunswick is a provincial immigration program made possible through an agreement with the Government of Canada as an economic program, the New Brunswick selects and nominates experienced business people from all over the world who intend to own actively and manage a business that contributes to the economy of the province and may create jobs.

Requirements and Process:

  • Provide evidence of at least CAD $ 600,000 in personal net worth of which CAD $300,000 must be liquid and unencumbered funds.
  • Make a minimum investment of at least $250,000 CAD to start, purchase, or invest in an eligible business in New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (control at least 33.33 percent equity in the business).
  • Should have CLB level 5 in English/French ability in all four language abilities (i.e., reading, writing, listening, speaking).
  • Have completed a minimum of two years of full-time post-secondary education after completing high school.
  • The business must create at least two full-time jobs for permanent residents or citizens of Canada living in New Brunswick.
  • Should have at least three out of five years of experience in management and/or own a business (100% ownership) OR have at least five years out of five of experience in a senior business management role or more.
  • You will need to make at least one business trip to New Brunswick within 12 months before submitting your immigration application. It must be for at least five full business days.
  • Provide a business plan of economic benefit to New Brunswick. This plan must to approved by an official of the Government of New Brunswick. We will assist you with this.
  • The applicant needs to submit a signed copy of the Deposit Agreement and a conditionally refundable deposit of $100,000 CAD.
  • The applicant should be between 22 to 55 years of age.
  • You must score 65 points out of 100 points on an assessment test which includes age, education, language ability, adaptability, and management experience.

The applicant will transfer ($ 134,500):

  • CAD$ 2,500 before submission of the Expression of Interest.
  • CAD$ 32,000 upon receiving the Invitation to Apply.
  • CAD$ 100,000 within 30 days when the province of NBNP immigration services provides a written acceptance of the file (following a successful interview) and signed Business Performance Service Agreement.

The Escrow Deposit of CAD$ 100,000 will be repaid to the applicant as follows:

At the time of nomination, the applicant will be required to deposit CAD$100,000 as a security deposit with the Province. Entrepreneur lands in New Brunswick and establishes the business within one year of arriving in NB, the applicant will need to demonstrate they have invested these funds of $250,000 CAD in their business. If they meet certain criteria, including living in New Brunswick and creating and managing their proposed business. The applicant must run his business for one year to be eligible to apply for a refund.
